Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 145 was activated on1 July 1949 and was the first ROTC on the campus at Florida State University.  Continuously active since its' founding, Detachment 145 has earned numerous accolades, including five separate honors for the Air Force Organizational Excellence Award, four selections as the top AFROTC Detachment in the Southeast Region and the top AFROTC Detachment in the nation in 1992.  During this time, Detachment 145 has commissioned over 1,000 men and women into the United States Air Force.
