Detachment 145 Education Officer

Major Cody J. DeMuth serves as the Education Officer for Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 145, Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL. In this capacity, he manages cadre instructor training, all course syllabi and gradebooks, and is the Test Control Officer and Commanders Self-Assessment Program Manager. Major DeMuth began his career by earning his commission in 2014 via ROTC Det 295 at the University of Louisville, KY. He is a senior air battle manager with over 1800 hours in the NE-3A, E-8C, MU-2B, and ground control stations. He has served in several operational and training environments, deploying in support of OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE and OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM in addition to supporting various missions and exercises in NORTHCOM, SOUTHCOM, PACOM, and EUCOM. Prior to this appointment, Maj DeMuth served as an Assistant Director of Operations and NATO E-3A Air Surveillance Officer, NATO Air Base Geilenkirchen, Germany. He assisted the Director of Operations in leading 135 international personnel and directing the $45 million, 4300 annual flying hour program, while managing 30 annual deployments and exercises across three flying squadrons. Major DeMuth is an AETC Master Instructor, having been an instructor at the Undergraduate Air Battle Management formal training unit at Tyndall AFB, Florida. Prior to that, he was a positional aircrew instructor on the E-8C JSTARS.
